A little about us:

At Considered Country Cosy we want to bring you a selection of products which support small British made companies. From small ceramics, handmade by local artisans to more everyday goods that come from British companies which retain that family business feel.

We want to promote products that are made by people and not mass produced by big conglomerates.

We want to support small British companies but also bring joy to those who take it into their lives, be it a collection of mugs to enjoy coffee with friends, or items that help you enjoy being outside or in the mountains, enjoying the great British countryside.

You can follow along on Instagram for more slow living content - come along and find a place to relax and switch off from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

BOOKS:

Whilst we endeavour to sell only products that are made in the UK, the supply of books is rather more challenging. To find a publisher that supplies the type of books that I think you would love, whilst being conscious of their eco credentials remains important , however at this stage these books are not made in the UK. I have used Thames and Hudson publishers.

They only use papers made from timber and pulp that is from legal, sustainable and well-managed sources. They do not source paper that is made from mixed tropical hardwood, including ramin, or wood that has been

  • illegally harvested

  • logged in protected areas, or areas undergoing an official process of designation for protection

  • Sourced from endangered, old growth forests, drained tropical peatlands, Indonesian tropical rainforests and any contentious suppliers or their affiliates

They are committed to using only print suppliers that are accredited by Forestry Stewardship Council FSC.

Thames and Hudson are committed to working only with print suppliers who can demonstrate to preserving the environment which requires accreditation that sets the standard for effective environmental management of waste, energy and ensuring recycling processes are in live with government standards. Thames and Hudson also only supply one warehouse in the UK via Hachette distribution which also has extremely high standards of sustainability practices.
